Trim up won't work

I have a 2003 250HP Ficht o/b. Engine tilts/trims down fine but will not trim up using either throttle or engine tilt switch. Occasionally, the trim up will work for a few moments but then cut out. Any ideas?

Here's an idea. Since it doesn't work on both switches, the switches are not the problem. If the tilt/trim motor does not run when you press the up switch, I would think the problem is more likely one of the tilt/trim relays.

or a dirty corroded connection.

Swap the relays and see if it works...

Sounds like your tilt limit switch may be stuck open. See part number 0586405.
