Consider the weight distribution on your boat. My Islander ran bow up until I moved the fuel tank forward and got rid of the rear jump seats. Moved back seats to the front of the dog house, not only gained another seat but moving that weight forward made a world of difference with the trim

Are you saying that the power trim up function won't work? If so, does the trailer tilt up function work?

yes the power trim up won’t work sometimes when that happens I have to push trailer tilt button and make stern raise just a little then bow up toggle will work . Then when I lower stern drive again to lowest position with bow down toggle switch then try to bow up it does same thing

The trim limit switch is on the pivot point of the outdrive. Corrosion keeps them from operating working properly. Take it apart and clean it up, or use the trailer button.

Hi, I just had my boat at the shop and my power trim will not go up unless I hit the Trailer button. When you just try to move it up with the switch you can hear clicking down in the engine compartment and I assumed it was a relay. The mechanic said it is the switch and i need new controls. I am not a mechanic but if the switch was not working why would the relay make a clicking sound. any advice would be appreciated

I doubt you need a new control. It sounds like some sort of wiring issue.

What year and kind of motor?
