Have a 85 V-150 XR2 that has a bad 'tilt-trim' unit [motor shorted and ram seems to be leaking]. Was making attemps to remove the assy today by removing the six [6] holding bolts and the main pistion holding pin but the unit still won't come out. I tried pulling straight down with two of us holding all loose parts in the air put it lacks maybe a 1/2: from removing. Do I have to lossen and spread one of the engine mount plates to remove the trim assy>> Yes, I did remove the bleed plastic screw as well as the fill housing lid but it still won't budge. Any suggestions???? I also see that there are some updated trim motors available in the three wire design... Will they work on the regular older housing or it is a 'wash'..
