Hello Gents,

I have a 93 Bayliner 2050 Mercruiser alpha one 3.0.

I am having issue with my trim. When I press up button sometimes it works, other times I hear a click from the Solenoid, or soemtimes nothing at all.

This goes for using the trailer button as well.

The boat is at the cottage and I did not have time to look at it when it occured.

What should I check. The wiring for corrosion? or just pay for a new Solenoid I hear they are about 30$.
but How do i know which model/size to get if I don't have access to my boat at the moment.

On a second issue what is common best pratice for the Trim limitter How far up should I set trim limmter be before i used the Trailer trim?

and I am assuming trimming all the way down is best practice.

Welcome aboard................As for the "no trim, but clicking sound" sounds like the solenoid is going bad. That said there is a thread here on trouble shooting that system. Try a search for it. As for the trim limit there is a measurement/ distance the rams should be extended when the limit switch kicks in. I believe the OEM manual for your engine OD combo is available on line..............I'm sure someone will provide you a link.
