Re: trim switch or solenoid
Because of the location of the trim limit switch on the gimble unit the switch may at times need checked for corrosion.Facing the drive unit turn the steering wheel clockwise till it stops. On the left side of where the drive attaches to the boat there will be a round object that says trim limit on it.there will be 2 outer ,larger screws for trim limit adjust. There will also be 4 smaller screws that is the access cover to the switch. You can remove the 4 smaller screws and take the cover off. Once the cover is off you can see the switch mechinism, it will be grey in color.Use maybe a perminate marker to make an index point so you can reinstall without chance of the setting you have now be disturbed. The grey portion can now be taken out for inspection and cleaning. You may need to use a tiny screw driver or just a knife blade to help pry the grey part out .there will be some grease which helps keep the corrosion down. once the grease is removed a fine emery paper can be used on the contacts , on the part you took out and the part still on the boat. After cleaning is done add a small film of grease , pay attn. to the index point and reinsert the grey part , there is an o-ring in the cover, reinstall with the 4 screws . Good luck
