Trim sender/limit wiring HELP

Hi guys,

I've been piecing a 97 chapparal 27 sig back together from previous owner neglect. The more I go, the more I find.

Replacing the trim limit/sender switches:

I took off the lower unit and replaced all seals, bellows, hoses and trim switches. My problem is, the previous owner had cut these connections and/or the wires coming in from transom were corroded. So, I have everything buttoned up and back together with limit/sender wires in engine bay, and I can't for the life of me find their home.

1. The trailer switch works up and down.
2. From the dash harness to pump solenoid I have a green/white connected, a red/black connected, a blue/white that is cut and a purple/white that is cut. (Shouldn't these be terminated somewhere? See pic)
3. At the transom: I have a brown/white and black that appeared to be connected to prior switch, I also have a purple/white that is capped.
4. Solenoid works when hot wired.
5. Pump works.
6. Gauges have power.

My assumption is that previous owner was using trailer switch to operate and I don't know what he did in between.

I jerry-rigged both wires to the brown/white and black to see if anything worked and nothing on gauge or trim toggle.

Could my throttle trim toggle be bad? Its a little flimsy.

It's 4 wires that go somewhere. If anyone can tell me where the 2 sender wires terminate and the 2 limit wires terminate, it would much appreciated. Or anything else I should be testing to figure out where this has gone bad.

Thank you!

Limit wires (male bulleted ends) connect to the purple and blue wires pictured

The guage sender wires (male/female ends) attach to a brown/wht and black wire in the engine harness. Usually located at the aft portion of the intake. Near the distributor on a sbc

@dubs283 ,

For the puple/blue wires that are cut- do these get spliced to new limit wires AND connected to terminal, or just spliced and done?

When I spliced them, there was no action from throttle switch.

The Guage sender wires- I got this to work by jumping directly to Guage. There must be an issues with wires along the way. Looks like I will snake a pair through which is no big deal- it's at least working and I know what is what. Thank you for that.
