trim sender for 82 black max need one

I have been trying to locate a 86485a5, or 86485a1 sender has anyone ever modded the merc trim sensor???? to another type of sender?? or does anyone have one laying around that works and you are willing to part with it??? trying to keep the boat original to the way I got it, I got the limit , now I need the sensor. thanks red423

That is going to be very hard to find. I never could find one for an 83 even a big local boat junk yard.
