Re: Trim pump

the clicking you hear is the soleniod(s) engaging - there are two, one up, one down

when you say connected directly to 12v power supply do you mean you isolated the motor from the whole system??

have you tried rapidly clicking the up/down switch on the remote to get the trim system to work??

Re: Trim pump

sounds like the motor is shot

disassemble and take it to a motor repair shop - be sure they can repair MARINE rated motors, e.g. marine starters and alternators

Ayuh,... Sounds like ya need a New 1....

I think they sell either just the motor, or whole pumps right here at iboats...

Re: Trim pump

Have you checked all the wires for loose or corroded connections?

IE: jumping 12V to the pump won't do any good if the ground isn't a solid connection.

Re: Trim pump

Yes, we checked all connections...today we replaced slave solenoid...would that have anything to do with it?

Side note: boat sat for a while, so should I take motor apart and try to clean or something?

Re: Trim pump

Is there any kind of checklist I can do? Connections? Solenoids? Etc?

Just to make 100% sure the pump is not bad....

Re: Trim pump

yep...

you can follow the trim system troubleshooting guide in the proper OEM manual and you will find the problem easily

but...i thought you said you isolated the trim motor from the system and it did not work??

to do that you disconnect the green and blue wires coming from the motor and connect them directly to (+) and (-) on a battery to see if the motor spins

Re: Trim pump

Ok, we took motor off and hooked directly to battery and its still good. We tested for power everywhere, up to control on throttle, back to pump. It all appears to be getting power....but still not working?

Re: Trim pump

you can try jumping the solenoids on the trim pump to see if one or both are failing, and check for proper voltages

it would really help for you to have the proper OEM manul for troubleshooting

do a search for manual #6 here in the forums - its not the actual manual for your drive but the trim pump is the same and will help a lot

Re: Trim pump

Check if small blue (up) and green(down) wires connected on the solenoids are hot when you operate the control on the throttle. Drive must be down or you will need to operate the trailer button for up. If you have power on the selonoids when operating the switch then the problem is at the selonoids somewhere.

Re: Trim pump

Try jumping a wire between the heavy red wire on the selonoid to the heavy blue and then to the heavy green. Motor should run up and down if you say it worked on the bench.

Re: Trim pump

The drive is stuck up, will that be a problem to test?

Jumping the hot heavy red wire on the selonoid to the heavy green wire (which is pump motor down wire) should bring it down.

Ayuh,... If the motor Runs while jumpin' it, 'n it don't go down,..
Have somebody Jump on the drive, while the pump is runnin' in the down direction...
It might be Stuck, it sometimes happens...
