Hey all,

I'm trying to track down what kind of trim pump i have because it needs to be rebuilt.

It does not have the manual release valve on the starboard side but otherwise it looks like the one in the schematic below. Someone said it's a "showa" pump and what is shown in the diagram won't work for me.

Can anyone tell me what this pump is and where I can find a parts diagram?

Boat is 1990. Engine is a 3.0L Forst pic shows schematic i thought was my pump. Second and third are my pump.1000012687.jpg1000007208.jpg1000007209.jpg

I've got bleed down. And it's making a crazy erratic buzzing noise, like there's air in the system. I will test the cylinders but I'm pretty sure she needs some TLC.

a merc hyd pump can be fitted in there and with some minor relay work will do the same job

Cylinder seals would be first thing to check. Cylinder seals will last 15-30 years. The pump will last a lot longer

If the cylinder is bypassing the piston seal, yes

Easy enough to test to determine where the problem is.

Extend the cylinders, pull the retract line, hit extend. No fluid should come out unless the seals are toast
