Trim Motor Replacement How to?

First of all thank you for your help and this service. I recently bought my first boat and being ignorant in boating I made a mistake my first time out with it and managed to snap the trim motor off its mount. The trim motor still worked but was dangling by its wires not connected to the rest of the lifting unit. I have since ordered a new trim motor and was wondering what steps and precautions I should take in mounting it. I am particularly worried that salt water may have gotten into the lifting system and mixed with the hydraulic fluid and I am not sure if I need to flush it out some how? The engine is a 1984 evinrude 115 hp 4 stroke. Once again thank you.

Re: Trim Motor Replacement How to?

Thanks for the response. I have searched through many of the Trim motor posts but can not find one that is quite like the problem I have since the motor actually broke off from where it was mounted while the boat was in the water. So I am concerned that salt water most likely has mixed with the hydraulic fluid and its possible effect on the mechanical parts on the inside of the lift system. Any advice on my circumstance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
