Hello and TYIA for any assistance. My 2007 Mercruiser 5.0 260 hp with the alpha one outdrive has been working very slowly. Additionally when we trim the outdrive up or down it draws too much electricity resulting in losing power to the radio and trim gauge. Advice or guidance on what the problem could be or where to start checking would be greatly appreciated!

welcome aboard

you have bad connections, most likely at the starter, or the battery.

start by taking apart each connection from the battery, cleaning it until its clean and shiny enough your mother in law would eat off it.

then tighten and move on to the next connection

Remove the battery and charge it with a 120 vac wall charger. Then take it to a auto place for a load testing. If it tests good ? Put it in the boat and enjoy. If it runs down again post back again. Turn off ALL electrical devices before leaving the boat. Every time. Using the big battery power switch is best. Except if a bilge water pump is stuck on running all the time. They can run down batteries in several days of use.

Shouldn't have your radio wired to the engine battery. Most use a house battery for everything not engine related. Start battery is for engine related power.
