Trim motor intermittent

I have also found the trim motor sticks occasionally. Is there any way to clean the brushes or do I need to replace the motor. When it sticks the relay still clicks while pushing trim up, down, or trailer. Then I tap the housing and it works. So assuming the brushes are sticky also it sounds rough.

I replaced the brushes on mine.

Dont know what you have ? BUT generaly the motors can come apart for repiars

I'm sorry I have a 97 bayliner 1854FS with a mercruiser 4.3liter and a alpha one outdrive.

Thanks that is just the ticket. This winter will remove and overhaul.
