Hi from Michigan new member to this group. I bought a 1990 cheetah with a 4.3 mercruiser a few weeks ago and it needed a new trim pump. The previous owner (coworker) took the pump off and took it to a marina to see if they could get one (it's still there). So I bought a whole new one, went to put it in and the fittings on the pump wont work with my hoses and I cant find anything online about the fittings or the hose that's in the boat. Am I gonna need to change the hoses or can I just get the correct fittings? Thanks for your help 20210417_171007.jpg

I'm saying the lines that are on there now. This was the original pump with those hoses.
Ayuh,...... Do you still have those hose to pump adapters,..??

If so, just swap 'em onto the new pump,.....

My thoughts as well or find a hydraulic or forklift repair shop can probably set you up with the right fittings or put new fittings on your hoses.

Yeah no, those are not Merc fittings. Merc have been using the same fittings on the trim pumps since before 1970 (the ones in BtDoc's picture). Those you have are locally made. I suspect the old pump will have either an adapter or someone has replaced the original receptacles in the pump...

Thanks for all your information, I got the old trim pump today and the fittings they had in it were npt going into the pump. I'm assuming they used whatever they could to make it work. I ordered new hoses today to make it right. I appreciate all the input.
