I am changing the trim motor on my 1994 150 Intruder and can't get the terminals out of the connector. It is a round connector with the female terminals inside. I have tried to pull them out and tried to push them out but no luck. Can't find a
release or catch to disengage. Anyone know how to get the old out and install the new?

Re: Trim harness connector disassembly.

Remove the rubber insert at the back, then a small screwdriver to 'release' the locking tab.

There is no rubber insert and I don't see where to insert the screwdriver for releasing tab.

This looks like the one but there is no "29" but this is a replacement motor I'm replacing so maybe 29 was left out. With this out I still have no idea of how to release the spade terminals. Maybe these were not meant to be replaced.

Re: Trim harness connector disassembly.

You seems to have messed it up pretty bad!
To remove, use a VERY small pin/screwdriver in from the front on the flat side of the connector, push the lead slightly inn from the back and put pressure on the screwdriver, then pull out the lead.
On this pic you see the locking tab, however a different type:

Re: Trim harness connector disassembly.

Got it! The receptacles were not locking but the release catches were damaged by my probing and took some fiddling with the bent up terminals to get them to release. Thanks for your help. I'm going out and install my new motor now. Hope I don't need further help but good to know it's here. BTW, Malaysia?
