Re: Trim gauge
A trim gauge is essentially a voltmeter, with the scale graduated in up/down increments. With the key on, the + terminal gets battery voltage, the sender terminal gets partial ground through the sender, which is a variable resistor. You can test the sender (with the key off) with an ohmmeter, it should read higher/lower when the trim is operated. Ground the 2nd meter lead.
