trim and tilt

Got a 98 johnson 50hp leaks down when its tilted up i had my buddy work on it to replace the seal and its not leaking...does it just need to be bled and if so what are the procedures or was it put back together wrong?

It goes up and down fine but it slowly falls down

Well not sure the procedure but it sounds like you need to re-bleed the system. I have done many clutches in cars and if you are bleeding the hydraulic fluid and somehow air gets in there, you have to start all over. Try bleeding it again.

No expert here but it sounds like you need more fluid, might have air in the line. You may also find a seal leak after topping it off. Good luck.

check the manual release valve is tight If it is , remove it in the down position and check the orings on it
