I have a 1990 90 hp force. New to me with the trim and tilt. The tilt cylinder was leaking around the shaft so after stalking the forums for awhile and reading the rebuild post I ordered a kit to rebuild. Got it off the motor and to the shop got the trim cylinder apart went to take the tilt cylinder apart and can not get it off even with the spanner wrench. Anyone know if the caps are still available in case it gets destroyed coming apart? Also I was looking at the pump and the 2nd port back isn’t drilled is this correct? Doesn’t seem like it would feed or return one of the cylinders correctly to me but I’m a noob when it comes to marine trim and tilt. Any help would be great thanks in advance!088F07B5-0DF8-4A95-8D51-069EFFB5054D.jpeg

Ok after looking at this picture again I just realized that the port that’s not drilled isn’t used it’s been a couple weeks since I took it off from when I started working on it. But the top cap not coming off the tilt cylinder is the real problem and I haven’t had any luck trying to find one online. Like I said noob when it comes to marine trim and tilt. Sorry for the confusion on the first post.

.You have a 2 part system.
The one that looks a shock absorber is the tilt.
The other shorter one is for the trim.
The post just before this one is covering the leaky
tilt cylinder.
The first 4 posts are post covering repairs for the
motor, the last 2 (?) cover the T@T with lots of pics.
The housing that has the ports for the hyd. line is
made from aluminum and the threads are very easy
to strip and cross thread, BE CAREFUL!!! :)

The top of the tilt cyl. can come off, you just might
need some heat???
Some guys are buying junk motors just to have spare
parts for their T@T.
Any 85/90 120/125 150 up to the early 90's will have
T@T systems that will work.
I bought a 125 for $125 for parts, turns out there was
nothing wrong with it. Look around?

One more thing: the pump itself, there's nothing in the
pump that you can fix. So don't try to "look inside" or
see if there's something to adjust.
The very bottom of the pump has a shuttle valve that
needs new seals(see the repair from post 4) and o-rings.

Thanks for the reply sounds like I need to start searching the net for some parts. Can the system be changed out to another style at all or no?

Yes there are a few changes, you can adapt a newer style
pump and motor from a limited style of T@T's from the
91-94 motors. I'll have to do some research and get some pics.
