In order to adjust the trim on my new 4-stroke, the engine has to be turned off, and then put into forward gear and then the trim can be adjusted (Manually) and then restarted (Manually - Pull start).

It seems rediculous as a safety precaution but I am new to boating...

Is there a way to make the manual trim adjustment available while the engine is running?
