Hello friends!

Has anyone heard of a Traveler Bass Boat? I think they were built back in the 80s but I can't find any other info...good? bad? wouldn't touch one? Any info would be great.

Well, yup..thanks. Saw that but it doesn't work as someone that has owned one or knows of the reputation.

Sorry, thought I'd give it a shot....owned several brands over the years but never even heard of a Traveler

Re: Traveler Bass Boat

Shoot. I agree and appreciate the shout. I did find two manufacturers of the Traveler:

TRAVELER BOATS INC TIFTON GA
and
TRAVELER BOAT COMPANY SMACKOVER AR

Smackover...what a great name! Anyhow, both out of business.

I've only seen a pix of this boat...bass style, fiberglass. The guy is moving it very cheap, but no title on the motor (not running) or the boat. As long as it's not stolen, it doesn't matter. The truth is, if the thing is in good shape (here's hoping) it would be a great deal regardless of who built it. Then again, some boats are just plain trouble and that's what I was looking for here. As well, I've owned a bunch of boats, grew up on the water--fresh and salt--and never heard of Traveler except for Arkansas Traveler and this one ain't that one. ;-)

LOL yep I've heard of that one....but if you've ever looked at manufactueres list...man goes on forever. I grew up in Knoxville, TN....surrounding areas where full of small boat makers, none of them still around today, but I could name you 10 just within a 75 miles radius of the house I grew up in. There was one called JanMar Boats, if you ever run into one of them, they are built like tanks.

Stopped by and checked it out. It is a Traveler out of Tifton, Georgia. It's good for a complete restore if one wanted another project. I have two now and another would have me sleeping in one of them. The Merc 90 was salvagable, but the lower unit looked like it needed to be replaced. The hull was chalked, but survived and not one hole...soft spots, but nothing through and through. If I didn't have the two now I would've dug into this one. Oh well...made a friend maybe and a business contact--he does pressure washing. You meet a lot of nice people doing this crazy stuff we do.
