I own a 2002 24zx skeeter. While replacing the transducer the drill entered a void about 3/4" into the transom and the instructions called for drilling 2 holes 1" deep. I was able to put an ice pick into both holes 4" deep without much resistance. Skeeter told me that there is no wood in the transom however they also told me that there was no wood in the floor of the center console and that is not so. Any suggestions? Thanks ****

Re: transom

I suspect that you are in a spot that indeed has no wood..... usually if the wood was rotten away you would pop through in about 3/8" then after a 1-2" void you'd find another 1/8-1/4" of glass.... Skeeter may be right for 1 out of 2 questions..... I'd try really hard to look at it from the inside but I wouldn't be too awful worried at this point.

Trim the motor all the way up and put your body weight on the lower unit.... does the transom move? now bounce on it... does it move? If no and no ur good to go.
