What is the correct procedure to route the
cable in through the transom. It is near impossible to route it above. I would like to run it through the transom well below the water line.

Hey chellabell,
I don't understand the question. Do you want to run the wire over the transom or through the transom below the waterline.
You can do either one.

c/6

Hooty

Ditto with Hooty. Also, if you do it below the waterline, you had better use some good sealant, or buy a watertight electrical connector to use.

If at all possible, I would stay above the waterline with hole drilling.

Run the cable above waterline. You have to drill a hole large enough to get electrical plug thru. Seal hole with silcone and put a small metal clamshell fitting over it. You can use small plastic cable clamps to hold cable in place on both sides of transcom. Your other options is use a thru hull transducer. Happy Boating.
