Doing stringers/transom and some hull repair on my 24 foot excalibur.

Plan on using 1708 with vinylester resin for everything, and 3M corebond to bed the transom in.

Right now i have stringers out, transom out, grinding is 90% done but found a lot of delamination under the stringers.

Going to build the hull up with 2-3 layers of 1708 and across the whole engine room. Never done a layup this big before plan on doing it in three sections left right and center overlapping. Any tips on doing a big layup like this? How many layers of glass can i put down at once is three okay or is heat a problem?

3 layers should be no problem if you work fast enough...but keep in mind that to get a good chemical bond, the layers do not have to be wet, they just have to be done within a specific period of time...one study shows that "window" of time to be as much as 16 hours, after that a ruff-n-scuff is recommended for a good mechanical bond...
