It looks like this repair is normal for older boats. The skeeter taht I am working on will hold at least a 50 horse outboard. I had ask a question on an earlier post. I found the s/n and found out what hp the engine is. Should I make the new wood transom so that is just slide between the inner and the outer fiberglass panel on the boat? Is there a standard thickness? I cut out the top of the transom when I checked it. Then used that opening to clean out the bad wood. I need check it again to see if it dried out and there is more rotted wood still in it.
