Transom question?

Hello, I am getting ready to start in on rebuilding the transom on my 79 Chrysler. I started looking at the trim around the boat and when I went to pull it off I found what looks to be rivets through the trim. I would have figured it would have been behind the trim once I pulled it off. So my question is, do I just take my time and just keep popping it off or should I try to remove the rubber in the trim and drill them out?

carefully remove rubber, and drill out rivets. take care of the trim, it is expensive to replace.

Thank you. The rubber is out of the trim and the motor is off. So I guess now its off to drilling the rivets out. Once I get the rivets out, what will I have to expect to getting the top of the boat off?

Re: Transom question?

I changed the name of the topic so I don't take any more space. Anyway, I have the trim off and all the rivets out. Now how to I get the top off? It looks to have been glued down with some type of silicone. Too bad there's not a way to get to the transom wood without taking the top off. :(
