Hello.Have a 87 searay with 3.0 litre alpha one stern drive....Noticed yesterday after a day in the lake that my sterndrive (top section of it) had a 1/4 " gap..when I picked up on the outdrive the transom "flexed" and the gap narrowed. 
.I know last summer I hit a couple of summerged objects which knocked on the sterndrive some...Is my transom rotted? Is there a temporary fix I could do till winter..?..(thought of just caulking in the gap at least).Otherwise, the boat runs and handles good....Thanks,Pete42
