Hello,<br />New to forum, have a 96 40hp Force, took out to lake yesterday, everything ran fine, then after about an hour, the shifter seemed to stick, would get stuck in neutral or not engage. Then it seemed to "fix" itself and was able to run on the lake using forward and reverse. Reverse seems difficult to select though. <br /><br />Just got motor back from shop, new impeller, seals, gaskets and spark plugs. Changed lower foot oil. <br /><br />Should I take back to the shop for a check? <br /><br />Thanks.
<br /><br />Yes. Sounds like an improper reinstallation of the shifting mechanism when the foot was reinstalled.<br /><br />(262)
