Trajic accident on Lake WylieSC

Yesterday afternoon an eight year old boy was killed by a boat prop when he went overboard. The boat had stopped to reposition a tube rope when the engine accidentally started and jolted the boy from the boat ..local charlotte news has more...The area where it happened is a place I sometimes cruise. I mention this just to remind others to be careful.

I was a couple years younger when I was run over by a pontoon boat ... I still carry the scars of the prop under my hairline. (some say this explains alot about me ...) Stories like this always make me think what could have been.

So sad and tragic ... could have been avoided, but sometimes accidents do happen. Just a shame. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of this youngster.

engines do not accidentally start on their on. must have been in neutral and knocked into gear. shut you engine down.

Another good reason to have neutral safety switch.
