I m getting ready to have my 2010 Q5sf serviced and stored for the winter tomorrow and I have never towed with the boat cover on the boat. Its the cover that came with it from Tahoe and fits well with the trolling motor on it. However I was planning on towing with out the trolling motor which leaves a lot of slack in the cover up front.Has anyone ever towed this way and had any problems with it. Also the cover was modifies to fit around the struts of the Bimini top so I have 4 small openings on the gunwale .

I guess my question is why do you want to tow with the cover this time? If you are concerned about it then just leave the cover off.. I tow with my cover all the time but it is a custom made cover. The other thing id to just leave the cover on and check it out when you get up to highway speed. If it doesn't look good then pull over somewhere safe and take it back off.. Good luck...

The reason I want to is theres a chance of rain tomorrow plus I would like to see how it goes just in case I need to make some changes for next year when I take it on vacation.

I never trailer with my cover on. when going down the hyway at 70 MPH... al the flapping and vibratin from the cover grinds the road graime and dirt into the hull. its like sandpaper. I recomend not doing it.

Re: Trailering with boat cover

We have the snap in bow and stern covers for our Tahoe and trailer with them secured all the time. I don't want dirt etc. covering the seats in my boat, not to mention I can leave the towels and things in the boat without having to worry about taking them out r blowing out of the boat. I don't really see a problem, and as someone already stated try it and see how it holds up at speed. If the cover has the straps that attatch to the trailer it should be fine.

I would prefer to trailer with a cover for the reasons stated and where do get a cover it will be the trailerable kind.
