The short wheel base and the “centered” weigh distribution isn’t doing you any favors….

Towed for a number of years with a Tahoe with a heavy tow package. Load leveling etc. Towed my #4200 boat well…no complaints.

Got two footice.. jumped up to #5800. Still pulled and stopped well but the short wheel base and leveling system really struggled with 30’ of trailer on the bumper. Could fell everything..border line tail wagging the dog.

Tow with a F150 Crew Cab now. Day and night difference in how the truck handles the load.
he has a 2022 Escalade. I am pretty sure that is Suburban and not Tahoe sized. If it is Tahoe sized, that is the issue.

Over the years I have pulled the same trailers with both my pickup and my Jeep Wrangler and always quite the difference. The Wrangler was like a five dollar hooker with a ten dollar customer. Any pitching of the tow vehicle by simple geometry to pushing the seat back a more pronounced amount than with a longer wheel base.

Checked 116" verse 120"
Suburban is 134.1
Yeah...even my shortbed supercrew F150 is 145.4". This is a wheelbase issue.

When I bought my F150, I bought the short bed becuase I thought it would fit in my garage at my vacation home...it doesn't...next one will be the longer bed.

Even with a 26' 6500# boat/trailer...it tows easily. I think the OP's probably weighs more.

? why do you need to be towing that amount of weight @65 + mph , your " car" is not built to do that even although it will pull the weight it is not meant to be doing it @65 + on the highway.
that's a heavy load for a car so its only natural to have problems as you drive faster.

I tried the weigh safe hitch which claims to be extremely accurate and it had a difference of a couple of hundred pounds. It is also my understanding that too little tongue will cause sway and this thing is pretty solid side to side.

I wonder if this could possible a result of the TSC (Trailer Sway Control) of the Escalade engaging.
