Re: Trailer Storage

It's a 24' Starcraft. My wife decided we needed a bigger boat for the dog and a family friend had this for sale. It's the fishing model ( starfisher ? ) with a 115 merc, a 9.9 4 stroke kicker and down riggers. It has a hardtop and a bimini top. I also added an electric trolling motor too.

hell I was thinking that was at least a 30 footer :D, I've got a 22 footer and that boat looks a lot bigger than mine

Re: Trailer Storage

by the way...that boat is huge.

Is the cover "breathable" if not it will condensate and keep the moisture inside the cover. I did that with a car one year and really made a mess of it. Mildew and rust.

The air is free to move from the underside. The cover is pulled down but not tight against.

Re: Trailer Storage

Strip the boat,,
Yank off the trailer,,
Flip boat over,,
Flip trailer onto boat,,

Bring motor into back room,
Store other things in shed.
Done. :D

(14' Starcraft w/ 15 hp yami & steel bunk trailer)

18 Parker is full covered w/ canvas, setting as parked (sorta). Boat lifted somewhat off trailer.

Re: Trailer Storage

#2 for me...

I personally like the trailer jacked up. My yard is lawn, and kind of soft. Sitting back there for 6 months, it will sink, and most likely freesze into the ground at some point during the cold..

I used the 3 block method, so it doesn't twist, and it's a lot easier.... (you can see the brick behind the tire) The wheels spin freely on each side. I just used regular bricks ... $5.00 apiece at hardware store.... and added a few 2x4's for height. I WD40's the tongue and chains, and wrapped in a garbage bag too...

You're keeping it in a garage.... on pavement I presume. If you choose not to jack it up.... at least slightly overinflate your tires.... and as suggested above, maybe move it around a little in winter...
