Re: Trailer loading guides

I have a V front bumper in the front to stop the boat from traveling any further past the bumper..I also have a roller up front for the keel to ride on....and floating bunks in the rear made out of wood and are carpeted.

When you are on the boat, taller is better.

Two tall ones at the rear. You can see 'em, feel 'em, and they only hit the rub rail.

This is my 26', 5000+ lbs. boat with fuel/gear and these work in current and wind:

Philster do you know what the name is of yours are that is what I am looking for. I need a set that will handle a heavy boat not some that will bend with a little bump and if yours work with your boat they will work with mine. Thanks in advance......

I'm kind of curious about these "floating bunks".

Haven't seen a non- stationary bunk in years.

Properly positioned "fixed" bunks may help you.
They can't really guide and hold the boat in position if they move when the boat hits them.

They are floating up while the trailer is in the water....once you hit the first roller with the keel they move down from the weight of the boat. When the keel hits the second roller up front the bunks support the bottom ridges of the boat.Once the boat hits the V bumper in the very front....it's at it's last "resting" position. That "floating" rear bunk only moves up and down maybe 3" to 4" at the most.

Hope that kinda gives you a picture?

Here is the companies website for anyone that needs it.

I don't know the name of the guides. Mine is a Load Rite trailer manufactured in New Jersey. They are welded on and seem original to the manufacture date, based on age of the metals (far as I can tell). There is metal under those sleeves down low, but the top is just PVC (or similar).

Surf through link posted. Good ones seem to be strong enough for any normal/trailer-able boat.

Philster, I did check I boats but they did not have what I was looking for. I did find a set that I can have welded on that look about like yours so I think I will go with them sounds like your setup. I did buy all my control cables when I changed them out from iboats with a great price and fast deliverey. I always check here first before I buy stuff Thanks for the reply.......

Re: Trailer loading guides

Well after getting these in the mail and after installing them on my boat....I have to say...I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. The guides worked just as advertised on their website....but even better in my mind. It's so easy to load the boat now...I can't wait for spring to go use my boat again.Minnesota lakes are now frozen!

Again....THANKS to all that gave me feedback on the purchase of my new boat guides!

I have the tall round aluminum bent tubing with rotating pvc pipe over them. They are not bolted or welded to anything, instead they are held with two u-bolts to a crossmember.
They are tight enought that it takes all I have to push them foward or backward.
This works good with my rather squared off bow on my boat because if I come in not lined up good enough, the guide gets pushed forward as it rotates at the u-bolt mounting.
Thus they do not bend or break and I can simply push it upright again.
