My right rear trailer light is completely out. I'm sure this is a stupid question but I'm new to boat ownership. I took the lenses off and there is an enclosed light housing with two bulbs in it. How do I open the housing and get to the bulbs? Do I have to replace the own housing at the wires?

On my trailer lights there is a small panel in the bottom of the lens that pops out and you just reach in and replace them. How about a picture of what you have?

Well my trailer lights are the sealed type not LED's just regular incandescent bulb type. Once they go you pretty much un plug the pig tail from the back and replace with a new unit my last one 4" oval type was like $10.00 but that was at a truck stop on the way to the lake. You MIGHT be able to crack it open and change the bulb or you might spend 2 hours messing with it only to have nothing but problems with it down the road. Yes I tried to do surgery on one and the results were so so.

The sealed (non LED) lights on my trailer I got at Harbor Frieght, I had one go out & there was no way what so ever to change the bulb. I tried to get it apart for a while with no luck. I had to go & buy a whole new light, that was a lot easier in the long run anyway, just took 5 min's in the HF parking lot to swap it out. You might have one of those lights.

I was under my trailer and boat last night replacing my trailer lights so I feel your pain. Just do buy new lights, housing and all. I got mine for 9.99 a piece (small potatos for a boat owner). Just make sure you buy the "submersable" ones. Made that mistake once.

HUH!?!?!? price of tea in China?

Has nothing to do with question.......

Lol, no kidding. My advice was for him to sell the Bayliner and buy a Whaler....that should fix his tail light problem.

Go to harbor freight and get the magnetic removable trailer lights. The cost $10.00. You can remove them when you launch your boat. I used them on my race trailer and now on my older boat trailer instead of rewiring the trailer.

In the thread he started, he was trying to determine the tire and wheel sizes for for his trailer; his wheels had been stolen and the manufacturer's tag is missing from the trailer. Someone advised him to contact OhioBoater19.
