How does this trailer fit look? I will adjust for tongue weight with my bathroom scale but thought this would be a good place to start.

Where would y’all recommend the back of the boat sit on the trailer? I can move it back quite a bit.

The trailer fram does go to the back of the boat, if it has enough tongue weight you can shorten those bunks…

Ayuh,...... Yer picture is abit lacking clarity, but I like the back of the hull at, or close to the back of the trailer, which best I can tell, would mean also shortening the bunks,....

It sounds like you are well aware of proper tongue weight but just in case to emphasize as Dingbat suggests > here is a short vid regarding the dangers of improper tongue weight link.

Given your current situation you could even do a little experimenting by adjusting it at either end of the 10 to 15% range and take it for a test drive to see what you are most comfortable with. To get your overall trailer / boat weight, in order to dial in the proper tongue weight, I have also found both the local rock quarries as well as the tractor scales on the freeways very accommodating in measuring up trailer (and combination weights). I just go talk to them first and explain what I am looking to do. I even once measured passenger to driver side on a 33’ travel trailer to ensure I was loading it properly (left to right) for a long haul I was prepping for.

I’m going to cut bunks down. I was able to assess to tongue weight and I’m already well within that 10%-15% range. Plan to cut bunks down in next few days. I made them longer as a temporary repair until I got the 2’ tongue extension welded on.

The Boat is a couple of Inches too far back, as those Bunks are unsupported Wood. I would than either cut the Bunks, or move them forward, until the End is directly above the Connection to the Trailer Frame. that is where I would have the Transom, located. If you want to have the Transom further back, the Bunks need to be supported better as in

Tongue weight is good no matter where I move boat within a few inches. I will move it back up on trailer.

Is the ideal location between the top picture and bottom picture? Thanks yall
