So two weeks to the date I returned the boat back onto a fully rebuilt trailer. New tires, new brakes and bearings, new leaf spring bushings, new LED lights and a new brake actuator, plus a nice paint job. Total cost around $1700cdn. The last thing left are decals and they have been ordered.

Just got to love the glow of LEDs!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want to see all the rebuild pics just go to my previous thread entitled "Work has started".

Looks great, First thing I am doing in the spring is putting on my LED tails - Have the center lights LED already. You did a awesome job on that.

You haven't added a bow tie down to the trailer frame. Could save both your boat and your life in an emergency.

Surely the winch along with the safety chain are enough to secure the bow? I have ratchet straps that I can use but dont think that its required. But I am open to any enlightenment.

NEVER trust a winch or a winch stand to hold your boat down in an emergency or collision. You need a strap or chain (I always used a chain with a turnbuckle) from the bow eye to the trailer frame.

Many folks consider that overkill and don't do it. A few have greatly regretted that attitude.

+1 on this one. Better to have it and never need it than not have it and have a situation where you do.

Valid comments. I will under take this modification next week. Have found an eyelet bolt and that will work perfectly.

He has a safety chain only problem is it's attached to the winch stand instead of the trailer. I can see it just below the winch hook. It's not the best location for a safety chain that's for sure. I've had a few factory ones that were attached to the base of the stand.

Thats why I put in a bow strap. Along with the winch, safety chain and the bow strap I think I have my bases covered. Next option is take a chain and binders and that may chip the paint! Lets face it, it would have to be a catastrophic failure for all three to fail at the same time.

The strap locks the bow to the trailer frame. That does the job.
