Tow Vehicle suggestion.

I have a 03 Durango 4.7L 2WD and not sure if it will be up for the task of towing my boat when I finish it in a thousand years. NADA says Net Weight is 4200 #s. 75 gal fuel tank = ~500 #. Galvinized Trailer 1500 #s??? Thats some 6200 pounds not counting gear.

Will the Durango survive? Anything I can do to help it? Or do I need to go up to a 25 series truck?

The Durango might not be around when you get done. If you replace the Durango before then, I would get a 3/4 ton.

2500 series truck, surburban, expedition. you want a longer wheel base, so the tail doesn't wag the dog.

Your tranny (if auto) will be toast. Can you? Sure. Would I? Never. Get a nice used 25 series.
