What do y'all use to clean your glass, gel coat and vinyl on your boat? I can't find anything to get the water spots off the glass.
Thanks.

I use Rain-X glass cleaner...cleans well and beads up, so water just rolls off the windows whether I'm pulling the boat home or flying across the lake.

Cheaper solution would be to use a 50/50 mix of distilled white vineagar along with distilled water in a spray bottle. You can put a little lemon juice or lime juice in for scent. Also be sure to use a micro fiber towel. This solution also works great for cleaning the hull. I use it all the time. Just be sure if you do use on the hull to respray it will a wax solution.

Make sure you use distilled water as it doesn't have nearly as many minerals in it as tap water does.

Re: Tough water spots

Well my town has some of the hardest water around. There is actually a ranking somewhere. When I wash the boat and If I don't immediately dry it off, water spots are there. Shy of waxing them off they don't budge. I use a product called Ducky which is sold at marine stores. It works where glass cleaner fails on the windows and is safe for all the surfaces on the boat. I now wash it with hot water in the bucket since our hot runs through the softner and then rinse with the unsoftened hose. It helps a little.

I'm currently using Spray Nine Marine grade. Cleans the interior and all fiberglass very well. Use sparingly.

I can't believe how well the distilled water and vinegar works. The glass looks brand new and only $2 to make a bottle. Thanks again!

No problem. Be sure to share with any and all. This product mixture was told of me by a coworker who's wife uses it all around the kitchen's and bath tubes because it is non-toxic and is freakin cheap compared to normal household cleaners. Glad to hear someone else now knows the magic formula. ;)
