tough running

175hp 79 Johnson Outboard, <br />Full throttle cuts out some times, and bogs down. Then after about 10 minutes of running starts to run smooth. Any ideas what is happing?

Welcome Mr. Pastor - Could be due to lotsa things from water/air in the fuel, crud in the carb or a on again off again breakdown of the ignition system. What have you done so far to troubleshoot? Follow your shop manual if you have one and if not suggest that you get one even if you have to hit your library.

Hi pastor...welcome to iboats....<br /><br />When was the last time ya' changed the spark plugs? Sounds to me like they need a change out or ya' got the wrong ones in there. After 10 minutes or so of running, the engine should be up to temp and that aids in the combustion of the fuel. If the plugs are old, you may not be getting the good combustion at low end and the engine has to wait for the temp to come up to help in the combustion process. Keep us posted please. Thanks.
