Touched my battery posts together. Now what. ?

That is what i did.. i purchased 2 different ones.. one oem one aftermarket from Amaz. both are reading over 15 volts at running.. so my question is why isnt it being regulated at 14.8 volts if the part is working correctly.?

What regulators did you to buy over there. You can post a link to Amazon for this.

Most regulators are 13.8 to 14.2 volt, the Fish-finder may not read the voltage accurately (they're not quality Multi meters)
Having set that; There maybe an issue, that the voltage produced is not going into the battery/ battery not accepting the charge.
This will cause the voltage to rise

Make sure it is not the 40amp one as will not regulate. Make sure red wire correct as red female goes to purple and red male to solenoid POS terminal.
