One way to see if water is circulating through the engine’s cooling system is water coming out the 2 exhaust relief holes near the transom. If the copper pipe is not plugged into the pump cover and pocket cover water will only flow out the propeller area.

Is it the correct impeller? Compare the height of the new one with the old one

Pretty sure it hasn't spun but I will paint inside of impeller and double check this time. Thanks
I haven't worked on Alphas in some time, but if my old memory is correct, there is a tube (about 3/4" dia) that runs from lower unit to upper and there are o-rings or seals on it to make sure of good sealing pressure. If you dislodged tube, that may cause all of you issues.

I did shine a light up the upper 1/2 of the outdrive all looked fine but looks are deceiving !! I am in the process of putting lower back on I will look closer tomorrow after work. Thank you

Make sure the tube going from lower to upper is clocked correctly. It’s in the service manual
