I have painted the top railing, bow, and top of the back of my aluminum bass boat with Rustoleum marine coating topside paint. I used Total Boat aluminum boat paint as a primer, which I was told by Total Boat I could do. The topside paint turned out great, but had to differ from the label instructions to thin the paint out enough to stay flowable, (about 15%), as I painted each section. I’m looking for a clear coat I can use to finish off the project. The topside paint claims to have good weathering protection, but I want it to last as long as possible. Anyone know of a clear coat that’s rollable that is self leveling and will do a good job????? Thanks in advance for any advice!!!

There are a few 2k clear coats that will work on rust oleum, but some will react. A clear that is safe for acrylic enamel is what you want. In general you don’t need it
