I just made a pattern for the new transom wood that is going in.
On my 1969 V-145, I see that the top of the stern has a "dip" shape to it.
Can I make the new one so it goes strait across?
The old transom had a lot of epoxy stuff just built up on the low points and the splash well that gos over it does not have this dip.
Before I took the boat apart I saw that there was a gap between this dip and spash well. The aluminum strip did not cover well at all.
Can I just make the new transom go straight across, fiberglass glass and 5200 all around the top before I re-install the splashwell?
Here is a photo showing the dip. You can see the tracing paper I am using for the transom pattern.
