Top al Qaeda operative caught

It's great news that they've caught another of the al Qaeda ringleaders - and this guy "Khalid Shaikh Mohammed" (I copied & pasted that) is one of the worst of them. Apparently he's implicated in so many al Qaeda attrocities (including 9/11)that they call him "Forest Gump" (as Gump was in centre of so many key moments in modern history).<br /><br />...but I was stunned to see that he's a Kuwaiti national and was educated in North Carolina (degree in Mechanical Engineering)... I don't understand why he wouldn't have plenty of good reasons to be grateful to the USA...it doesn't make sense to me... <br /><br />Or maybe some Kuwaitis didn't want to be liberated from Saddam ? Kiwi, I went to school with an Iranian. They are perfectly nice, but have a completely different culture. They don't percieve things like we modern , steeped in the 60's Americans. That's why I always try to hammer that home to Plywoody. They don't see life through our eyes. They are not going to join hands and sing kum ba ya with us. Yeah Americans.

You have to understand the real meaning Of Hate. There is no way to Please these people, there is nothing we can do to change their minds about the way they feel about us. They Hate us deeply in ther souls! It's NOT just us Americans. It's anyone that is not a Muslim. The English, French, Germans, Japanese, Russians, Canadians , etc. etc. They want to kill everyone in the World. That's hard for some people to believe but that's the truth. Even some of the Other Muslims are On their list. The radical Muslims believe that they are in Hell ! The only way to redeem their souls and to go to their Mohammed is to kill the infidels. It's Not what we have done or not done to them, It's not Oil, Land or Money, it's the oldest form of hate. The only way to deal with them is to KILL them before they KILL us.

He may not care if he died for his cause. But a few weeks of torture would make him forget about Allah.<br />It would be interesting to see if he is willing to have his family die for his cause.<br /><br />Since times have changed since 911, and innocent people are the main targets, wouldn't a logical countermeasure against terroism be to make it clear to potential terrorists that THIER families will be targets of an explosion after thier deed?<br />Wouldn't they think twice with the thought of thier little brothers and sisters, mother and father targets of a firebomb?<br /><br />All's fair in love and war? Just a thought.

I think it is great that this guy was caught. I hope we do more of that, as there are lots more of them out there that have yet to be caught, not the least of which is OBL himself.<br />And Sco, I am confused about what you are trying to hammer home to me, that these people do not see the world thru our eyes? Seems to me that is what I have been trying to hammer home to you, that the notion of attacking Iraq and somehow turning that nation into an oasis of democracy is lunacy, as is any other country in that region. While there are no doubt moderates in all these countries that would love to have that happen, there are far too many that are not moderate that will not allow that to happen.<br />It is a delicate diplomatic goal to gain peace, and we should wage war only when it is required by threatening aggressive actions. We have not seen any threatening aggressive action by Saddam in the last 12 years, and if the reports are true, his country is not strong enough to threaten anyone, let alone us. Containment has indeed worked, and disarmament is working, even if slower than we would have liked.

Hey plywoody, you say Saddam hasn't done anything in the past 12 years, then why is it he fired 2 anti-aircraft missiles at US aircraft just 2 hours ago??? That is doing nothing, I think not!! I have a good idea for all you guys over there in the US of A. Send all these scum bags you catch home by sea. Chain them down and serve a 5 star meal then wave as they set sail for Iraq or wherever they want to go.
