Always wear clean underware. You might have to go to the hospital.
Although I always wear clean ones, I never really understood the importance. Chances are if you end up at the hospital you'll have soiled em' anyway...
;)

The most important decision you will ever make is choosing your spouse. From that single decision will come 98% of your happiness or 98% of your misery.

On #7 live within your means, if I have the chance to talk to someone just starting out, live BENEATH your means. From my experience your means can change in an instant.

Start saving now for the future. It doesn't sound important, and you will always think there is plenty of time.

RetNav and DD are getting close to the saving one. I think pay yourself first just made it. The message I want him to learn in this area is that the clock ticks, so starting to save now and forever will definitely make a difference in his life. I wish I had learned that at his age . . .

Ultimately Warhorse has identified maybe the most important one as I had said I may remove #1 only because that is already in his mind.

I've gotta spend a little time with JB's and NOSLEEP's lists

1) Have faith in God
2) Do what you say and mean what you say
3) Never make a major decision when you are: angry, horny, or hungry
4) Life is not fair
5) You know right from wrong, always have the convictions to do what’s right
6) Don't step aside, step up
7) Live within your means
8) Pay yourself first and start now
9) The most important decision you will ever make is choosing your spouse. From that single decision will come 98% of your happiness or 98% of your misery

There's a reason we have two ears and only one mouth. Because we need to do twice as much listening as talking.

Good one WARHORSE, i agree with the choice of spouse statement, only i would say 98% of your
happiness as well as 98% of your misery !

"Never a borrower, or a lender be"
is a good old adage

dang
your asking 10 things???
I could not tell my 18 yr old 1 thing.
as she was so much smarter than me she decided her friends knew more than I as well and took off. but she is having fun working on horse farms, I did offer to finance another couse at the OK horse shoeing school but as she went to one 6 week course at age 17 she knows it all.
good luck :)

rodbolt,

Never said he would listen . . . ;) I'm actually thinking of makin' a laminated card and stickin' it in his wallett. He's not as bad as I make him sound. If the moment is right, he thinks I'm OK :)

I second Gator's comment on credit cards. Man, if I could just go back ten years and punch myself in the face...

I'd sum it up with "Surround yourself with friends who value and support 1-9"

They're lots of people I enjoy spending time with but I can count on one hand the friends I have who would stand toe to toe with the devil to fight for my soul. Friendships like that are hard to find.

spots
