My 6 yr old Daughter lost her first tooth last evening. It was a big deal to her and she was really excited about the Tooth Fairy after hearing what the Fairy left for her friend. She told me her friend got $100.00 from the Fairy!!!

DOH! Now I know what my competition is....

So I knew exactly what I had to do, just needed to figure out what denominations the cash would be in....

4 Quarters or a Dollar bill. Wife won, the Tooth Fairy left a Dollar Bill. :D :D :D

My Daughter wanted that tooth out so bad, she sat in the bathroom on the counter pulling on it until it popped out. That really surprised me becuase she usually screams and cries over the slightes injury. Heaven forbid if it bleeds.....

So for her to yank it out and the blood and all and be HAPPY about it was a total surprise to wife and me.

Maybe she's growing up.... NOOOOOO!!!!!!

She pulled it out hoping for the happy hundred!
A hundred's bit silly but so is a dollar :)
Maybe you should help subsidize the tooth fairy...

Re: Tooth Fairy came last night.

The morning after my daughter lost her first tooth, she came in the room and said (with a sad look on her face) "the tooth fairy didnt come". Ell I forgot. So, thinking quickly I asked if the tooth was still there and she said no. So I took here by the hand and we went in to check it out (telling her there is no way the tooth fairy forgot to come). With a little sheet ruffeling and pillow shuffling I found the money. It appeared that the tooth fairy had inadvertenly put the money inside the pillowcase, hehehe ;) . Her expression totaly changed when she saw that money. Later that morning I found the tooth on the floor behind the bed. :D

Lol at RP. Been there done that too! Had to convince them they just didn't look hard enough. As soon as they see the money they forget all about "but I looked there and it wasn't there!"

When my oldest son lost his last baby tooth he started tearing up like he was going to cry. He had never been bothered by losing a tooth before so I asked him what was wrong. He said, "I just lost my only source of income." After that we broke down and gave him an allowance.

All I ever got for a tooth was 50 cent. I'm really bummed. Lived in the wrong neighborhood all that time............

My daughter's tooth came out and she dutifully put it under her pillow. Unfortunately she forgot to mention this fact to the tooth fairy.

Imagine her disappointment when all that was under her pillow in the morning was the same grimy old tooth. We came up with some lame story about the tooth fairy being busy, and try again tonite. She claimed to buy the story, but I was never quite sure.

You think that's bad? I take mine out every night and there's never a cent under my pillow in the AM. :D

Re: Tooth Fairy came last night.

My daughter just last year "out-grew" the tooth fairy, Santa, Easter Bunny etc. *sigh*

But...to make sure that they wouldn't figure out too early in life we put a few simple "lies" in place:

1. Tooth Fairy must be called/emailed before tooth is put under the pillow. If they insist that you call "in front of them" then you will have to call sombody you know who will play along (ie your mother). Side note...I like to give them the gold colored dollar coins from the tooth fairy...makes it more like a TREASURE than just a dollar.

2. Christmas - you have to either have a stash of wrapping paper that only Santa uses (and that they NEVER SEE) or tell them that you give Santa's elves the wrapping paper you want them to use before Christmas. (This is how my oldest "figured out about Santa...).

-JMW
