Re: Tools

two things I have found.
budwieser cant fix anything and bush cant navigate. after that its all good.
ditch the copper anti-seize. use nickel based stuff.
copper reacts with salt and some other minerals and creates nasties occasionally.
but the biggest thing to do is fix things before they break like water pumps, tstats and fuel pumps and such. if you wait till they fail sometimes its very bad.

Re: Tools

The adult beverages are a must but like any tool, they have to be used properly. They are specifically intended for use --

1- To celebrate a job well done.
2- As a distraction when "your buddy with an exwife who has a cousin that worked on a farm fixing tractors gives you advice".
3- As a distraction when "your neighbor or brother in law is trying to help you".

After all, thats probably what the cousin / neighbor / bil was after anyway.

Remember, use the right tool -- use the tool right.

You forgot #4. To help you forget when you really FU a job. Two cases in point - dropping a critical part to the bottom in 100' of mud bottom trying to fix something on the water, and - toasting the water cover gasket trying to get a tstat housing gasket off (just being off by one gasket!).

Don't forget the GoJo (waterless hand cleaner)

Whenever you buy a gasket, get two or four. Just in case.

pony

you will also need bearing/bushing pullers. i bought a bushing slap-hammer to remove some worn out bushings on an old 9.9 years ago. i bought it from snap-on, pretty !?#@ expensive!! but it's worth its weight in gold.
