You must be a bit further south than I am. Around here most years the river and lakes freeze over by early January

~ 600 miles..........Washington DC metro area
No lakes or rivers.........Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean
Average high in January 7C, Average low -3C
Not uncommon to have 15C days
Going to take a whole more than that to freeze saltwater

Ah yeah need much colder than that to freeze salt water. I would love to boat salt water sometimes. The rivers and lakes get very repetitive

Saltwater gets repetitive sometimes too. There are chances you'll see some kind of life and maybe a national graphic moment but when you get 10 to 15 miles offshore it's nothing but water water everywhere.

I don't head 40+ miles offshore to see the sights. I head out to catch.....lol

The thrill of a lifetime is just one bite away.......the sound of a screaming reel has kept me heading out to the deep for over 50 years now.

Still can't sleep the the night before in anticipation of the upcoming day

Finally got a design nailed down with a local shop. In the fall I am going to be taking it in. He is going to work with my existing front cover adding a zipper, making wings that can either attach to the front cover or smaller panels to go directly to the deck, wings will go 6 inches before the cleats on the gunnels, 3 piece windshield that zips on and off. Priced out at roughly $3500 CAD. Way cheaper than I was expecting it to be.

He ordered a couple parts that he needed that was not in stock and I guess one of them is out of stock at the warehouse. Estimated date of mod Oct for delivery which is past when I am winterized. Planning for spring.
