1994 Johnson 115hp.....a Few Months Ago I Posted About Having A Problem Shifting In And Out Of Gear And Neutral Button Getting Stuck In...since Then Thanks To Everybodies Help Got That Fixed. The Problem Now Is That Is Waaaay To Much Slack In The Shifter Going into Foward. Unfortunately For Me I Had Messed Around With The Tension Screws On The Shifter (both Of Them) And Also Had Taken Off The Bottom Linkage On Motor Side. Also Idol Is At ~500 Rpm Stalling At Times When Shifting Foward/reverse (unless I Shift Quickly). I Think I Need To Adjust The Teleflex??? From Idol When I Give All The Throttle Possible Rpm's Go Up To 3000 Only (did Recently Come Close To Filling The Tank With Gas 65 Gallons) Slowly If The Thing Gets On Plane The Rpm's Go Up To ~5400 Max (used To Get To ~5700-5800 Rpm's).
The Problem List Clarified:
1. Too Much Slop Shifting To Foward From Neutral?? Do I Adjust Tension Screws On Control Box (not Sure Which One Does What) And Teleflex-please Advise (ps They Are All The Original Cables 1994)
2. Stalling When Shifting- Neutral Rpm's 500. Should They Be A Bit Highter 600-800 Rpm's?? (i Also Relpaced Spark Plugs Recently)
I Will Take Any And All Advice---thank You All In Advance
