Lets all try to curb our hatred for glass boats when a FELLOW Starcraft boater wanders into our tin shack.

We are all here due to a love of BOATING 1st, then our own taste in boats 2nd.

Followed up at 3rd with the BROTHERHOOD of all you crazy bass-turds I have gotten to know (and fear..lol) these last couple years.

I am stepping off my soap box now..

Happy Sunday, go get wet if you can

I don't hate FG boats, and I'd like them even more if the 2 projects in my yard would disappear. Yes I have them for sale.

lol..no I didnt buy a glasser..

Its just I saw a comment the other day that was a bit out of line, and I was thinking I have made a few harsh comments in the past to newbie glassers that come into our tin world.

That would be me for the 'Bad comment" . Its just that we seem to get a lot of younger fellows with new to them glass boats I APOLIGIZE it was out of line. Yes I do have a Aluminum Starcraft but also the last 10 boats I have owned were fiberglass I still have a 15 ft. Glastron I bought for the local river. and a 16 ft. Fiberform I was going to rebuild ( which I still may do. And some of my all time boats were the Glas-ply off shore boats 19-21 ft. You are all welcome and we - I - will do my best to help you.. I have a lot of experirnce with both types. PUGETSOUND

PS - No biggie. Most posts are tin related and in the mfg. forums SC tinnies dominate. It's easy to forget that SC glassers are "real" Starcrafts. Most of us have had the "itch", I know I have a glasser in my past. I'm surprised that we don't get a lot of SC pontoon questions. I don't think we will stop with the glass comments because it's part of the rowdiness of this funny bunch. We is nutcases! :D

Re: To the Starmada...

I agree, a Starcraft is a Starcraft. Chinewalker usually puts us in line. He's a class A restorer and boater. Some guys prefer glass for a lot of reasons. I'm glad I chose a tinnie for my first resto, but if I get rid of the Offshore that 18' American or Stinger looks really sweet. A glasser for cruising and a tinnie for fishing.

Ask Broadcast about glass. He fishes in 6 footers on Lake Huron in the Bluewater, that is one serious boat.

Thanks Kev.

I've had both, both have good points. Had wood too. Glassers are definitely better in chop. And allow me to get bigger tandem axle trailers.

Re: To the Starmada...

well said Kev. the whole concept of "tin boat snobbery" sounds like an oxymoron anyway. sevl of the forums i'm on frequently don't seem that welcoming to newbies, and there's no surer recipe for a web forum to eventually die out
