Well...I'm getting to the point on the boat where I have to wait for sealant to dry, then for paint to dry...and it takes waaaay too long. So time to work on the trailer...

First off, the boat will be painted like this with the same graphics.

I was strolling through bLowes today, and spoted Heavy Duty Rustoleum paint....in Gloss red. Yummy. Then I got to thinking, should I paint the Trailer red with black accents, and mirrored silver graphics???

Here's the trailer now, it's gray...barley.

Here is possibly the absolute worst MS Paint job you will probably ever see.

That in a nut shell is kinda what I'm thinking about. Red Frame and cross members, black fenders, roller mounts, mesh walky thingy, and winch tower.

Good Idea? Bad Idea? Horrible and I should be shot for even thinking about it Idea? :)

Originally my plan was to paint the trailer black. But then I saw the red.

So poll it up and let me know what you think!!!

Bob's right. Rust is an ugly color and anything is an upgrade but I think the red with the accent colors to match the boat will look nice trailered although it won't quite carry that color scheme if you're dragging it with the Pontiac Fiero in the background... might have to paint that too :p:p

Personally I like the look of a good high gloss white on a boat trailer. Just seems to make the whole package come together.

... with the Pontiac Fiero in the background....

Sadly, that car would pull the boat waaaay better than the truck I have pulling it now. That car has a 93 Cadillac 4.9L V8 stuffed in the back of it. With an Allante intake on it too. It's a quick fun little car.

The truck on the other hand is a 93 S10 with a 2.8L with a manual. It does just fine, but sure would be nice to have more power when pulling up out of the landings. :)

White is nice on a trailer. Only problem is, it's just too plain, and everyone has a white trailer. And I've never been a fan of white myself.

OK, I'LL WAIT!

Though I don't know what I'm waiting for. :)

I just finished mine in Gloss Smoke Gray Rustoleum anf I thought it turned out pretty good. Yours I think would look good in Gloss black with Red and Silver pinstriping, I did my Stratos trailer in those colors and it looked pretty good.

Glossy red would look sharp with that boat. But I painted mine flat black about 6 years ago. I chose that because it's the best for keeping you from noticing the rust when it re-forms!
