To loose of steering

Hello all, Is there anyway to stiffen up the steering on a 1981 Chrysler 9.9? I would like to mount this on a remote troll bracket. Mod - if this is in the wrong group, please remove.

Should be a clamp close to the bottom of the kingpin.
boatsdotnet find the parts diagram for your motor, listed under the Mercury tab.
